I am an advanced application developer(pclp) in R7. If I want to upgrade that to R8, I have to write 2 exams including one in R7!!! I don't understand why should I write an exam in R7 if I am already a pclp in that version.

Also, do I have to update to R8.5?
And what happens when R9 comes. Can I write one exam to upgrade to R9 from R8 or will there be multiple exams as well?
